A Look Back at 2008

What an amazing year it has been!

The 2008 winter season was especially fun because Nick and I took trips up to my cabin and I took Nick skiing for the first time! I grew up skiing and have always loved it, so it was fun to teach him how to do it (with the help of my dad!)

In the spring we took our first trip to New York City for a week and had a blast. We saw so much and I got to see Ellis Island, where my grandfather came through from Italy. Years ago my brother and I put his name on the Wall of Honor so I got to see that and it was a very special moment for me, getting to see the place where my dad's family's life in the USA began.
My grandfather sadly passed away at the end of August at the age of 92 so it meant a lot to me being able to see that aspect of his life.

Summer was quite the whirlwind with weddings of wonderful friends (including my fellow blogger Mrs. Bliss!) and we had so much fun celebrating this amazing milestone with them all. Lots of fun!!
Nick and I also took some relaxing weekend trips up to my cabin and did some fun hikes with my parents.

In the fall I took my first trip to Las Vegas for the weekend with Erin and her friend Andrea! We had a great time and I am so glad I finally made it there!

In November I spent an amazing, relaxing week with Meghan and Brynn in Maui! I am so lucky to have them in my life!

The fall and winter were filled with wonderful holidays and memories as well, moving to Greenlake, and even though we had a losing season, lots of fun tailgating Husky and Seahawk games on the weekends!

Looking back I am overwhelmed with how blessed I was this past year! I need to always remember that everything that has been given to me is a gift and to not take anything for granted.

I know that 2009 is going to be a wonderful year, and I can't wait to see what plans God has in store for me!

Happy New Year to all!!!

NORAD Tracks Santa

Every year NORAD tracks Santa and you can view his location at their website. Here is a video of Santa making his rounds in Rome, Italy! I think I even saw him fly over my old apartment there! :)

Merry Christmas Eve everyone!

Winter Wonderland Continued

Here are some more images from Greenlake on Monday morning. Work was closed again today so Nick and I walked outside and saw all the fresh snow that came last night. We even saw even more cross country skiers, the smartest way to get around is definitely on two feet!

They said on the news this morning that there is about 9 1/2 inches on the group in Seattle!

Nightime Winter Wonderland at Greenlake

After the Seahawks game, it was still snowing really hard so Nick and I walked around Greenlake and it really looked like something out of a movie! I felt like I was up in the mountains, not in Seattle.

And what made it even more surral was the fact that Greenlake was frozen! Not all the way though, but there was still a pretty thick layer of ice on it and the ducks were walking around on top of it. Crazy!!

Snowy Seahawks Sunday

Even though the snow continued to fall in Seattle, Nick and I headed out to the Seahawks game with Brooke and Daniel. It was snowing the whole time and was Coach Mike Holmgren last home game after 10 years in Seattle so it was really fun to experience that. He did a loop around the stadium and to wave goodbye to everyone. Very nice touch.

And the best part was that we beat the Jets! Great send off at Quest field!

Stabbert's Christmas Party

Even thought we were semi-snowed in, Nick and I escaped cabin fever and went over to Brooke and Daniel's Christmas party. Isn't her kitchen so cute? She modeled it after the Barefoot Contessa's kitchen!

Seattle Snow Day!

Due to snow and very messy roads, my work was canceled so I had a snow day! Nick also was working from home so we had fun walking around the Greenlake area and seeing all the pretty scenery.
