Obviously I am on a Britney kick tonight because I am just so excited for her documentary, album and Good Morning America performance! Big week coming up! Too bad Comcast hasn't set up my DVR yet...
I loved looking at all of her Rolling Stone covers throughout the years - what a decade it has been for her. I still remember I bought the first Rolling Stone magazine she was on when I was on vacation in Canon Beach with my family and I still have it (along with all the other ones)!
Britney did her first live performance since her sad disaster at the 2007 VMAs and she definitely rocked it! It looks like she had a little bit of help from a backup track, but she looks amazing (very Madonna-ish) and I am so excited for her CD Dec. 2!
On Sunday Nick and I went to the Seahawks game in the suite with his family which was pretty awesome and stocked with plenty of football food and drinks. (Not a healthy food weekend for me). Even though we lost (and Mike was hurt so didn't play), it was still really fun and I got to see Nick's new adorable cousin Maddox! Definetly a future Seahawk like his dad!
For Nick's birthday, I surprised him with dinner at Volterra on Friday night. He thought we were going to Ballard to run an errand but I surprised him - aren't I sneaky! We had a great dinner there and then went over to Cupcake Royale to get a variety of cupcakes for later.
There were of course a few glitches (as always in my planning): pouring rain on the way back to the car, no umbrella, forgetting where I parked the car, and getting followed by two creepy bums who were trying to have a conversation with us. Oh well - memories!
Yesterday after work I met up with a bunch of the sorority girls at Rock Bottom to celebrate Carrie's engagement! You should head over to her site to check out her beautiful ring and read her cute engagement story. It was really fun to see everyone and $3 beer and $3 sliders always make me happy.
But I was really sad when I got back because my mom called me and told me that my uncle Rick who lived in Alabama had died. That made me really sad, especially since my grandpa died in August which was not long ago.
While I was lounging around having pools drinks in Hawaii, my mom and dad were across the Pacific Ocean trekking around Mt. Everest in Nepal for a month! This was actually their third trip to Nepal but they said this was the most strenuous than the other two. Mom and Dad kick butt! I don't think many people could have made it to 18,000 feet!!! (As a reference Mt. Rainier is 14,411 feet).
Today we started off at the beach and played for about an hour and some people saw some sea turtles, but we didn't.
We had lunch and pools drinks and then decided to do a little break from the sun to play card on the deck. One sunset came around, we went for another swim in the beach which was fun.
For dinner, the Jones' made this amazing pasta dish of triple cream, tomatoes, basil and garlic and then we had sides of chicken, beef and salad and then we all watched the Office and 30 Rock together.
