-Taking French

2. What are 5 things on your To Do list today?

-laundry (always)
-clean (Nick is like super clean, so its never really a lot)

3. Snacks you enjoy?

-veggies or pita with my homemade hummus
-cheese and crackers
-roasted almonds
-anything savory!

4. Where are 5 places you have lived?

I have always lived in Washington state, so I'll really have to break it down more:

-current location!

5. What are 5 things you would do if you were a billionaire?

-Travel the world on The World (check out this awesome boat!)

Wishful Wednesday: costume

'I wish' .... I was six years old and going trick or treating, and my costume would be a puffy panda!

How cute is this costume from Pottery Barn Kids?! And the hat would totally keep me warm too! Nothing is worse than going door-to-door when you are cold.

And I would have Nick be the puffy alligator!

Head on over to Kelsey's site, The Seattle Smiths to add your costume!

Husky Homecoming

Even though we lost our homecoming game to the Oregon Ducks, we had lots of fun before the game!

And I have a yummy recipe to pass along: Tyler's ultimate enchiladas! They are so good, fairly easy to make and this is some of the best salsa verde I've ever had! Check it out!

I also have some random pictures I had to post. They are of my parents cat, Missy, sleeping on Nick's lap. She loves him so much!

Pumpkin carving

Tonight Nick and I are going to a pumpkin carving party at our friends Brooke and Daniel's house. Brooke is my Martha Stewart partner-in-crime so I decided to pull some inspiration from her site. I have no idea how these will turn out, but we will give it a shot!

Happy Friday everyone!!

Show us your city: Seattle

Jax at The Roaring Twenties asked us to show us your city and I am so happy to show off the lovely city of Seattle! I can't take credit for these pictures though, and the links are below:

Seattle has lots to offer, unique neighborhoods, we are surrounded by water and mountains within view of the city. So we can do water sports and hiking in the summer and skiing in the winter.

We are also home to Fortune 500 companies such as Microsoft, Boeing, and Starbucks.

The Wall Street Journal recently named us as the #1 Next Hot Youth-Magnet City and have been on the "best cities" list from Forbes, CNN Money, Business and U.S News & World Report.

MSN also named us the Most Educated City in the US!

We also have lovely suburbs close to the city (and if its good enough for Bill Gates, its good enough for anyone!)

Hope you all have enjoyed a little bit about Seattle, come visit us sometime!

Wishful Wednesday: vacation

'I wish' .... I was going on vacation tomorrow, and I would want to go ... all over Europe!

So Nick and I are leaving for France next month (eeek!!!) BUT in my Wishful Wednesday world, I would so love to stay a couple of months and go all over Europe! Hopefully sometime in the not too distant future Nick and I can spend a longer time doing just that.

My favorite saying: have suitcase -- will travel!!

And on our same Paris note, I finally got around to booking our Paris hotel, thanks to Rick Steves (still working on the plan for the rest of the time there)! Our hotel is on the left bank, very close to the river and center of Paris in an area called Saint Germain. How cute is this street in the neighborhood we'll be in?!

Head on over to Kelsey's site, The Seattle Smiths to add your Wishful vacation spot!

New blogger on the block

This lovely lady seen below is not only one of my best friends for over a decade, but a new blogger as well!

Brynn is a true wedding expert and I honestly think she could beat out Darcy Miller (Martha Stewart's wedding editor) any day, she has more old classic games than anyone I know (see Dreamphone post), is a wonderful cook, the Bunco master and an amazing friend.

She just started a blog: The Simple, Sweet & Silly Sophisticate and you should all check it out and give her some blogger love! I promise you she'll give some back! :)

Welcome to the blogging world Brynnie!!

Meghan's birthday dinner at Bizzaro

A tradition Meghan, Brynn and I have had since post college is that we take the birthday girl out to dinner at a restaurant none of us have been to.

I know it sounds cheesy, but honestly, it really is such a fun birthday gift just being able to hang out with two of my best friends over wine and a wonderful dinner. Even though we hang out a couple of times a week, going out to a nice dinner is always special!

We went to a totally fun and cute Italian restaurant called Bizzaro which was actually featured on the Food Network.

We wanted it to be a surprise for Meghan, so instead of telling her the name of the restaurant we made up directions from Dwight Schrute from The Office telling her to go to a location where she would find another clue to our dinner spot.

We emailed it to our friend Donny who also works with her and he printed it out and put it on her desk. Yes, Brynn and I are kind of crazy, but we love it!

What was especially fun about this dinner was reminiscing to 10 years ago:

For Meghan's 16th birthday, her mom took us three down to Portland for a girls weekend. They got us a beautiful hotel room, we shopped, went out to dinner and had like a wonderful weekend hanging out. And here we are exactly 10 years later having dinner together!

It's so fun to think that we have been friends for over a decade now and here's to many more birthdays and decades of friendship!
