One thing a day

This past weekend Nick and I went on a couples retreat for engaged Christian couples. We had a really good time and met some fun people as well.

One of the things that randomly came up in conversation was getting rid of some of the "clutter" in our lives. Neither Nick or I are reallylike having a lot of "stuff" (minus kitchen/cooking related things for me), but it seems recently we've been accumulating more stuff than we need.

So Nick and I have decided we are going to start getting rid of (hopefully donating) one thing a day. I think it will be a challenge, but I'm looking forward to simplifying things! Wish us luck!!

good luck!! that kinda makes me laugh cause my parents have that problem too, so for xmas my dad got a book about how to de-clutter. i can't decide if he'll read it or it will just add to the clutter! haha! i'm sure you'll do great!

I love cleaning out! It's such a good feeling. I try and do it with my clothes every year.

I think that's a great idea! Having a ton of stuff and clutter is never a good thing. Hopefully you can donate it to a good cause.

as i unpack our new house, i am overwhelmed with how much stuff we have....

i should tell my fiance about your idea because it would declutter our house but hopefully go to someone who needs it more by donating.

let us know how it goes :)

That's wonderful you were able to getaway and do that couples retreat! I hope you learned some things and enjoyed your time there! That is great you're being productive and donating things! Good for you both!

That sounds like so much fun! The couples retreat, not so much the decluttering...but definitely a great idea. I'm all for simplifying! :) Good luck, I hope it goes well!

That is an excellent idea! We've started paring down a bit too. It actually feels nice, but it's SO hard to do!!

I would go through his closet first. Maybe there are some tshirts he still has from high school you hate. I always sneak a few into the Goodwill bag.

good for you! and i hope you enjoyed the retreat - we did one before we got married and i thought it was really helpful, it changed the way we both thought about our relationship.

I have so many things I don't use or need anymore. I really need to go through my clothes, etc. and get rid of things as well. Some of it has sentimental value, and that's always tough to toss out.

That is such a great idea. There are so many things hidden in our closets and drawers that we forget about! Glad you guys had an amazing weekend!
