Merry Christmas 2012!

Merry Christmas to all! Hope everyone had a blessed Christmas!

Merry Christmas 2012 from Nick and Carol

We had a fun and busy weekend with friends and family:

Dec. 22 - Nick parents and sister/brother-in-law over for dinner
Dec. 23 - Brunch with Nick's fam (11 total!)
Dec. 24 - Christmas Eve with my family (plus a little something extra - see below)
Dec. 25 - Christmas dinner with my family and joined by Nick's parents!

I think this was the best Christmas yet!

And we had a little something extra this Christmas Eve to celebrate - one of my best friends Meghan and David got engaged!!!!!  Nick and I knew it was coming and had to keep the secret - seriously so hard to do - I was terrified I would let it slip!  Meghan has been one of my best friends for over 14 years (!!!!) and I adore her like the sister I never had.  She and David are perfect for each other and I know they will have a wonderful future with lots of love and happiness!

Here are some pictures from our exciting Christmas Eve

Brynn and I are good secret keepers

Yay for Meghan and David!

This is my favorite picture of Meghan and me from my wedding - can't wait for this to be her in the wedding dress!!!

Gingerbread houses and Christmas boats

Hi friends!  So much to catch up on from the Christmas season!

Nick and I went to the downtown Seattle Sheraton to check out the annual gingerbread village display.  It was Disney castle theme and we weren't disappointed   (Even though we had to wait forever in line to see them!)

The Little Mermaid...

Aladdin...

 Beauty And The Beast...

Grimm's Fairy Tales...

 Chronicles Of Narnia...

Look at the cute little wardrobe

Alice In Wonderland...

Sunday evening a group of eleven of us braved the elements (it was raining pretty hard here in Seattle) and took part in the annual Christmas Ship Parade - a parade of boats around Lake Washington complete with Santa and Carolers.

Also - I saw this on Facebook and thought it was very appropriate after the news on Friday...

Weekend update

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas, and I love it!  One Thursday we had our annual ADPi Corporation Board holiday dinner at Purple Cafe and Wine Bar in Bellevue.  I did a splurge and got the lobster mac and cheese, good decision on my end!

On Friday to lighten things up a little I made Ina Garten's Winter Minestrone soup - huge winner from her latest book!

Saturday morning was spin Flywheel then that evening we had Nick's company party at the Hyatt in Bellevue.  The company is so big this was literally probably one of 10 parties they have!  I would guess there were about 2,000 just at the party we went to for Nick's group.  They always do a good party and this year was no exception!

Sunday was our annual ADPi ornament exchange (including fellow bloggers Michelle, Baillie and Carrie) and we had three babies join us this year!  Here is the ornament I got - I love it!

Sunday evening we went out to a yummy dinner  La Spiga to celebrate Erin's birthday!

And my friend Ashley just got back from a trip from London and look what she is bringing back from London - Special Edition Hello magazine!!!  (So jealous she got to be there for Royal Baby excitement!)

Garden D'Lights 2012

Nick and I have continued our tradition and last night we went to the Bellevue Botanical Gardens to see Garden D'Lights.  This year our friends Meghan and David joined us and we made an evening of it.

We started off with dinner at seriously one of the best dumpling houses - Din Tai Fung.  (And our awesome brother-in-law works there!)

After dinner we headed off to check out the lights and get in the Christmas spirit!

Royal baby watch 2013

For those who know me (or just read my blog) you know I love the Royals so I was beyond excited to hear we have Royal Baby Watch 2013!  My friends know me well because I got all of these Facebook, text and email messages "congratulating" me because everyone knew how excited I would be for Kate!  haha!

I've been celebrating with my Royal Wedding Tea!  So excited!!

Nick's birthday dinner at Rione XIII

Last night Nick and I went out to celebrate his birthday - the big 29!  His birthday was on Nov. 21, but because of Thanksgiving we decided to hold off until this week.

We went to a new restaurant called Rione XIII - from their website "Inspired by Trastevere, the bustling 13th district of Rome, Rione XIII explores simple Roman cooking on Seattle's Capitol Hill. Menu favorites include fried artichokes, housemade mozzarella, cacio e pepe, and wood-fired Roman street pizza."

I have been wanting to go there for a while and it did not disappoint.  I had my favorite dish in the whole world, Tonnarelli (spaghetti) Carbonara so I was a happy camper!

And to burn off all those calories luckily I have FlyWheel on Saturday!  It's an awesome spinning studio and an insane calorie burn!  I highly recommend it to fellow Seattlites - first class is free!

Pippa Middleton autographed book

I have amazing friends - exhibit A is the amazing "trip treat" my dear friend Meghan brought me back from London.  Not only did she get me the new Pippa Middleton Celebrate book - she got me an authentic autographed copy!!!!  Needless to say I freaked out when she gave it to me!

Once I got past my excitement on page one I flipped through the whole book and it's really cute - she's a British Martha Stewart!  Obviously I'll be planning a Pippa Party based on the book!

So does this mean I am one-degree of separation from Kate Middleton?! ;)
