Retirement dinner at Cascina Spinasse

2012 brought a pretty exciting change for my family - after a successful and rewarding career as a physician, my dad hung up his stethoscope and retired!

To celebrate we all went out to dinner at my favorite Italian restaurant, Cascina Spinasse.  I actually went there in 2009 right after I got engaged (wow, that seems like a long time ago!) and I was so excited to return.  The restaurant has gotten a lot of press over the years and New York Magazine named them one of the best pastas in the country.

I am so happy and and excited for this next phase for my parents and I know they are already loving the retirement lifestyle these past few months.  Congrats again to my dad - here's to exciting adventures ahead for you and mom!

Congrats to your dad!
I hope he won't get too bored, because this is what usually happens in the first few months of retirement. My uncle, a former physician, also retired last year and I think it took him 6 months to finally realize that. Hahaha!

And yes, going out and celebrating this day is a great idea...let alone going to a wonderful place like this Italian restaurant. WOW!
